David C. Cimo, shareholder and founding partner of Cimo Mazer Mark, concentrates his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency matters in federal and state courts, with a particular emphasis on complex bankruptcy, insolvency, and commercial litigation. David represents plaintiffs, including court-appointed fiduciaries, in the prosecution of director and officer liability litigation, legal and accounting malpractice liability litigation, complex fraudulent transfer/preference avoidance litigation, and bank liability litigation. His practice also involves prosecuting and defending litigation claims on behalf of trustees, creditors’ committees, debtors, and creditors in litigation-intensive Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, as well as receivers, statutory assignees, and other interested parties in federal and state insolvency, assignment, and receivership proceedings.
David is a member of The Florida Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. He is a 1988 cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, where he was an article and comments editor of the Entertainment and Sports Law Journal. He earned a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from Florida Atlantic University in 1985.
